About the Role

As an Escape Room Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our business, creating unforgettable experiences for our players while ensuring the behind-the-scenes mechanics run smoothly. This is a multifaceted role requiring both customer engagement skills and technical problem-solving abilities.

This is a casual position with the potential for full-time role for the right candidate. 

The pay will start from Grade 2 of the ​Amuse​ment, Events and Recreation Award [MA000080]. Higher grade will be applied for candidates with higher capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

🎭 Game Hosting & Operation

• Welcome and provide a briefing to players before their game. 
• Monitor escape rooms in real-time and provide hints when needed.
• Debrief teams after their experience.
• Create an engaging customer experience.
• Reset rooms efficiently for the next group.

⚙️ Technical & Maintenance Work

• Perform routine checks on puzzles, locks, sensors, and electronics.
• Troubleshoot and repair game components to keep rooms in top condition.
• Assist in modifying and improving the escape room tech and automation.
• Collaborate on new room designs and upgrades.

📦 General Operations

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organisation within the facility.
• Provide feedback on game performance and areas for improvement.
• Occasionally assist with social media, marketing, and events.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an escape room expert (yet!), but we’re looking for someone with:

✅ A passion for puzzles, gaming, and immersive experiences

✅ Abundant knowledge of electronics, wiring, or Arduino-based systems

✅ Skilled in 3D printing/laser cutting/handyman 

✅ Excellent customer service and communication skills

✅ An eye for detail—our puzzles need to work flawlessly every time

✅ A hands-on approach—enjoy tinkering, fixing things, and problem-solving

✅ Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (when most bookings happen)
